AMSTERDAM WHITNEY GALLERY, 511 West 25th Street, Chelsea, New York City, is proud to showcase in its JANUARY 27- FEBRUARY 28, 2012 leading Contemporary Master Artists whose work explores the abstract, figurative and natural worlds, exalting the realm of the aesthetic through brilliant coloration and dazzling form. This special, sweetheart "Valentine" exhibition offers a visual bouquet to delight the senses of both art acquisitiors and lovers of art.

The dynamic exhibition “RHAPSODY of the ABSTRACT” introduces us to three talented masters from New York, Uruguay and Germany who explore the boundaries of the heart in richly diverse non-objective compositions that conjure vibrant spectrums of human emotions and transpose visceral expressions into syncopated, kaleidoscopic color values and textured forms, resulting in an electrifying intensity that thrill the senses through expressive application of paint and charismatic compositions which sing with exuberant color, vigorous line and dynamic motion. DONALD BROWN jubilantly embraces freedom and space as he intuitively applies vibrant swaths of paint to create his mesmerizing, non-representational canvases which transcend the painterly realm, where enticing colors provide an expressive abstract dreamscape quality as he introduces a visual vocabulary radiating spirit, color, and light. LARA CAMPIGLIA captivatingly demonstrates the pinnacle of what makes successful abstract art which knows no parameters and no boundaries, demonstrating an inherent freedom of brushstrokes and a dynamic synergy of powerful, kaleidoscopic colors. ERICA FROMME paints spectacular huetopian paintings that resonate strongly in the mind of the spectator and are thoroughly expressive in startling brushwork and pure, electric color, which expressively reflect a passionate palette with vivid explosions of pigment and form.

Three gifted international artists from Italy, Finland and Spain are showcased in the exhibition, “COEUR a COUER,” as they invite us on a romantic visual odyssey to explore the universe and offer global perspectives to the natural terrains in heartfelt, alluring visual landscapes. These artistic gems become a nexus of light as they intricately intertwine the real and the imagined, resulting in aesthetically enticing works of art which illustrate the ever present yet intangible metaphysical and emotional forces of fantastical realms. TAKANE EZOE's abstract, grid format Block Print & mixed media compositions are inspired by the allure of the four seasons, becoming a conduit to the viewer’s mind and soul, as they skillfully envision terrestrial landscapes as an imprimatur for timelessness and fragility, and metaphorically echo our own shifting moods and dreams. PAIVYT NIEMELAINEN's emotional landscapes and sculptural wall hangings are visceral metaphorical portals to nature which pay homage to our universe and illuminate the sublime majesty and mystery of the moon, sky and water as she externalizes their effect on our environment. DIEGO SALADO's rhapsodic, abstract, mystical paintings illustrate a new visual vocabulary which honors the physical beauty of other worldly realms as his masterful compositions lead us to magical horizons and a world of mystery and wonderment which is infused with a divine spirituality as organic forms metamorphose into sublime fantasies.

Romancing the senses, “HeART & SOUL” is an exuberant compendium of three contemporary masters who are influenced by the galvanizing power of nature, revealing the magnetic attraction of the natural terrain, each offering a unique artistic vision reflecting a vibrant, individual self-expression of man's communication with nature. With élan, they illustrate the dynamism and syncopated pace of the natural environment including its vivid color, challenging atmosphere and melodic moods, as they translate these visceral qualities into an exciting visual lexicon which results in expressive rhythmic landscape tableaux. ELMAR C. FUCHS's powerful emotional landscapes and vistas are deeply psychological, illuminating the intangible forces in nature which exist in the inner spiritual world and the viewer is implored to explore that which is abiding within one’s own entity. SUSAN MARX's neo-impressionist, plein-air efflorescent oil dreamscapes pay homage to the timeless appeal of the floral world, creating visually rich transplendent floral bouquets, offering contemporary evanescent reinterpretations of classically inspired floral and landscape perceptions. JACQUIE VAUX pays homage to nature and depicts the magnificence of wildlife and flora from the U.S. Northwest region, imbuing great respect to animals, flora, and the natural terrain, all the while capturing its complexity, and joie de vivre, as she celebrates the splendor of our environment.

The February COLLECTOR'S CHOICE is an exhilarating survey of carefully curated contemporary art reflecting a remarkable variety of styles ranging from Abstract to Landscape to Still Life to Floral compositions which delve into humanity’s deepest creative roots and into the deep heart's core while highlighting their unique artistic vision and aesthetic ideologies. These talented Contemporary Masters present their visual connection to the diverse levels of external and internal experiences through a variety of mediums and the audience is confidently shown the passionate energy of the act of creation. AMSTERDAM WHITNEY GALLERY is proud to shine the spotlight on the COLLECTOR's CHOICE artists: CORA CRONEMEYER, J. DULE, ROBERTO FERNANDEZ, ANN GORES, ANDREA HARRIS, DIANE HOLLAND, ADRIENNE KYROS and JANE ELLEN MURRAY.
