October 4 - November 1, 2019

AMSTERDAM WHITNEY GALLERY, 531 West 25th Street-Ground Floor-Chelsea, New York City, is proud to showcase its OCTOBER 4-NOVEMBER 1, 2019 Exhibition featuring leading contemporary artists whose works explore the abstract, figurative and natural worlds. This Autumnal nexus of enchantment exhibition, highlighted by the “LA VIE MAGIQUE- HALLOWEEN MASQUERADE” Champagne Soiree on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12th from 3:00-5:00, offers a mesmerizing elixir of the arts which will captivate the senses of both art acquisitiors and art aficionados alike. Pulsating with a charismatic vortex, these artists’ sophisticated, eclectic, and often joyful representations of life provide a visual syntax of our world. Their hypnotic canvases and inspiring sculptures unearth spiritual emotions as they synthesize imaginative artistic visions and stimulate visceral sensations.
ALCHEMY of LIGHT introduces the viewer to three masterful artists inspired by nature and the cosmos. Their magical artistic vision continues the legacy of man’s profound quest to find beauty and meaning in our universe as they create visual conversations which reveal the essence of the natural realm and the universe.  Enamored with the theory of the cosmos, Norwegian artist, INGER DILLAN ANTONSEN’s brilliantly hued, abstract canvases are influenced by the movements of the universe and music, echoing the swirling birth of stars and the universe.  Internationally renowned and world celebrated floral and landscape painter, NANCY BALMERT, is recognized as one of the twenty- first century’s premier floral painters whose  luminescent floralscapes reflect a delicate balance between the earth and the sky as they immortalize floral impressions of our beautiful world.  SALLY RUDDY’s Nature’s Heartbeat Landscape Series  viscerally communicates her love and respect for nature and humanity, with  luminescent oil compositions, as her eye  is turned to nature and her heart attuned to love of  the land.

MAGIQUE of the ARTelier hypnotically bewitches with commanding depictions of the natural terrain which is infused with the jubilant spirit of artistic achievement. Their charismatic, visceral compositions reflect colorful, magical incantations and reverberate with a wide fulcrum of expressive sensations.  KATHARINE GOULD's pastel, socio-cultural narrative entitled “Exodus,” dramatically illustrates a visual odyssey of the emotional and physical plight of the transplanted refugee, fleeing their land and searching for safety and freedom.  JOHN PETERS’s magic realism floral and landscape paintings expressionistically channel sensory experiences along with a profound connection to the environment by harvesting a cornucopia of nature’s colors and sensations to uniquely transcribe the bounty of the terrestrial environment.
WIZARDRY of the ABSTRACT exhibits four compelling international artists from India, Russia, Greece and Germany, whose spellbinding abstract transfigurations represent magical alchemies of painting. Each global artist’s beguiling artistic lexicon is a vortex of enchantment radiating unique artistic expressions into compelling external forms. In an abstract quest to translate her non-objective vision, Indian born,  AKSHITA GANDHI, articulates a global perspective and is widely recognized as a visual raconteur, narrating artistic anecdotes through her artwork and photography, as she orchestrates a sensorial artistic mosaic of the external universe  Russian-based ANASTASIA GAVRILOVA’s abstract expressionist compositions visualize acute emotions and externalize them on canvas, utilizing dazzling color and a palette knife to portray emotions of love, delivery of a child or protest against social situations.  Greek-American  GEORGE MAGIRAS’s  paintings  metamorphize  the mysterious language of dreams and illustrate the emotional vibrancy and natural beauty of his native Greece as well as portray his artistic observations of New York as they evoke memories of both actual and imagined places. German-based DIANA WUNSCH’s celestial abstract visceral canvases spiritually interact with the world through color sensations, empowered by the use of gold, becoming a visual metaphor for our world.
ENCHANTED MIRRORS shines the spotlight on three global virtuosic masters who synthesize the beauty and complexity of the human form and face through their variety of mixed medium.. By illustrating the wonderment of the world, they combine an intersection of painterly vision with innovative conceptual perceptions. ZHEBIN HU’s figurative and portrait watercolor paintings encapsulate universal human experiences, inviting the viewer to participate in the human relationships of man in nature and are imbued with sentiment and nostalgia as each portrait articulates the emotions of the inner human being. Korean-based JEONG WOO-KYUNG’s “Past, Present and....Series,”  captures the human spirit with images ranging from Mother Theresa to Marilyn Monroe, as she juxtaposes the legacy of a saint to the image of a sexual icon.  Chinese born, New York based APELLES ZHOU’s classically trained figurative portraits convey the essence of the human character, transcending their mere likeness, and explore the subjects’ emotions, attitudes, intentions and mood as he masterfully evokes their soulful spirit on canvas.
